Stools let me get stuff done. Or maybe it is because they are so functional and attractive. Whatever the reason, I do know one thing for sure. The stools I’ve been seeing on some of the handmade sites, like Art Fire and Etsy? Droolworthy!

Photo via Still Novo Design/ArtFire.com

On Art Fire, I am a big fan of Still Novo Design. This artisan makes some of the most amazing recycled wood stools I have ever seen. They have a wonderful simplicity to them and would be ideal for a room with Asian inspired decor.

On Etsy, my favorite stool has got to be the sweet little tuffet by Branch & Birdie. Can’t you just see Little Miss Muffet plopping herself down on it to eat her curds and whey?

Oh, and Studio Stebby Lee has got to have the most unique stool I’ve seen. It is covered in bottle caps and has a fun and funky look.

Of course, since I already have a stool (or two) in every room, I’m only window shopping today!

Are you a fan of the versatile stool or am I alone in my adoration of this type of furniture?

It’s been a good long time since we saw any offbeat furniture. I always mean to share, but I just fill up my bookmarks, hording stuff for my own viewing pleasure. Today is show and tell. Well, more show than tell. If you’d like to learn more about any of these amazing pieces, click on the photo.
Stool slash newspaper holder slash ultra fun!

Biggest dog chew toy ever – you know, or a bench.

[via old school Neatorama]

We’ve seen swooping, curvy, furniture here before, but the pieces from Dust really pack a punch. Great colors and shapes.
Stacked Cabinet No.1

Bookcase

My favorite is the Stacked Cabinet No.4

All of the above are via Dust, and trust me you want to go see the rest of their gallery. They have a clock that’s extra sweet, plus mirrors, and more.

Which is your favorite? You know, I don’t like dogs, but that stool is so slick, that it might just be my favorite today.
