Organizing is one of my favorite subjects. I have read way too many books on the subject, buy every magazine that has the words organize, clutter, storage tips, or anything close to that and am constantly changing things around our house to make things run more smoothly.

Welcome to DeclutterIt, the organization blog!

Organizing is one of my favorite subjects. I have read way too many books on the subject, buy every magazine that has the words organize, clutter, storage tips, or anything close to that and am constantly changing things around our house to make things run more smoothly. (Yes, it drives my husband nuts! But hey…I could be sitting around eating bons bons and watching the soaps. He prefers the organizing.)

Now just so you know, if you come to my house, it does NOT look like a magazine cover. Would I like it to be? Sure. Would I like to open my pantry and see everything out of the boxes, in see-through containers, lined up and labeled? I hate to admit it…but yes, yes I would.

But honestly, in my world, that is just not realistic right now. Can I still be organized if things aren’t picture perfect? You bet! You see, I would rather let my children help me put the groceries away, in quite possibly the wrong place (gasp!), and have them feel good about helping out, then being some control freak with her label maker!

So even though I am organized and I know I can help you get organized, I am a realist and understand that everyone is at a different stage in life, defines “organized” differently and needs to take this journey to organization one drawer at a time.

I am looking forward to sharing my tips, latest organizing products, answering your questions and sharing my life with you. It is a challenge in my family of 5 to keep everyone organized. It takes some hard work, among other tools that I will share with you.

Here’s to Decluttering It. Whatever “It” may be!
