Summer Reading Programs

For my family the summer is just around the corner and I mean that literally. The kids are out of school, errr their last day of school is May 27th, 2009. So what does that mean for me and my household? It means trying to scramble to come up with some educational but fun summer activities.

Create Your Own Summer Reading Program

OneBookTwoBook.com    Perhaps your library is a small one and they don’t have the facilities for a summer reading program as I described in a previous post. Or you live too far from the library for it to be convenient to attend.
Why not develop a summer reading program of your own with your children?
*Tie in with the local library. With their help, do some of their activities at home or ones that pick up their theme.
*Choose a favorite book and base family activities around it.
*Choose a topic and read books that tie in with it.
