Cold Stone Ice Cream : Cheesecake Fantasy

One thing I love about Summer besides family bbq’s, pool, beaches, grilling meat, warm weather, cute shoes, etc, is our family trips to Ice Cream parlors. We alternate between Dairy Queen and Cold Stone. Tonight, my husband treated us all with a trip to Cold Stone. Actually, we can all thank my 2 yr old daughter because she said the words “ice cream” and Daddy was just happy to oblige. Anything for the Little Princess.

Pina Colada Pops

Remember the frosty strawberry pops I posted last month? Now how about some pina colada pops from Kraft Foods? Sounds good doesn’t it?
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup boiling water
1 pkg. (3 oz.) JELL-O Pineapple Flavor Gelatin
1/4 cup coconut-flavored rum or coconut milk
ice cubes
1 can (8 oz.) crushed pineapple in juice, drained, liquid reserved
ADD boiling water to gelatin mix in medium bowl; stir 2 min. until completely dissolved. Stir in rum. Add enough ice to reserved pineapple liquid to measure 3/4 cup. Add to gelatin; stir until slightly thickened. Remove any unmelted ice.

Kids Recipes : Frosty Strawberry Pops

School is almost over. Like me, you’re probably looking for kid-friendly recipes to make while the kids are out of school. I found something a refreshing kid-friendly snack from Kraft Foods featuring the strawberries which happens to be one of my kids’ favorite fruit.
INGREDIENTS :
1/3 cup KOOL-AID Tropical Punch Flavor Sugar-Sweetened Soft Drink Mix
4 cups fresh strawberries
BLEND ingredients in blender 2 min. or until smooth; pour into 6 paper or plastic cups. Freeze 1 hour.
INSERT wooden pop stick into center of each cup. Freeze 3 hours or until firm. Remove pops from cups before serving.

Summertime Treats Kids can Make

This morning I woke up and remembered my dream, it was so real that I went right out to get the supplies. Oh wait, ya’ll want to know what the dream was about I’m sure. We were making pudding pops and popsicles. Kind of strange?
Seriously the dream was about filling up popsicle trays and making pudding pops. I have no clue what it meant but decided it meant something.
