As you plan your schedule for summer vacation, incorporate visits to arts and craft shows and shops. Quilters and fabric artists do this regularly. My daughter and her friends enjoy these forays to gather new ideas and meet other fabric artists. Of course, lunch at a new location is added pleasure to the trip.

Theme Weeks for Summer Vacation

Last year, at the b5 One Book Two Book blog, I developed Theme Weeks, concentrating on a different topic with related books, web resources, and activities each week of the summer after school was out. I plan to do it again this year in my Parenting topics.
I shall announce the themes as soon as I get them planned, starting in mid-June, when school is out in my area (New Hampshire) and I’m not substitute teaching any longer.

Cross-Country With Baby

I’m pretty depressed at the moment as my hubby packs up the mini-van to prepare to drive home tomorrow morning. That’s 24 hours in the car at best, 36 at worst.
It all depends on Zack. He’s good during the naps and then maybe an hour-and-a-half after that. Then there is just angry yelling. Not crying. Just yelling. My husband can sleep through the yelling, I can not. I’d rather be driving than being the poor sucker trying to make peek-a-boo fun in the 26th hour.
