While no airplane seat cover maker can guarantee you won’t get sick, a little prevention can’t hurt. The new seat cover by Sure Fit is designed to place a comfortable barrier between you and the seat’s previous users. The soft stretchy suede material of the Stretch Piqué Transit Cover looks to fit more tightly than competitor PlaneSheets.

The Sure Fit cover includes a headrest pillow pocket to keep your travel pillow from slipping. It’s also small, fitting in briefcases or other little bags. The cover fits most commercial plane seats, as well as bus seats. It sells for $14.99.

Of course, the transit cover is machine washable to allow you to keep blocking out germs. I always feel like washing anything that’s been in the airplane cabin with me.

New Airplane Seat Cover by Sure Fit

I bought my sofa before I got my cat, and he loved its rough texture. Foam was starting to come out of the front arms where cat had repeatedly attacked, yet the sofa was in good shape otherwise.

I went to several furniture stores, but nothing really screamed “buy me.” I decided to try out a slipcover for the first time. The Sure Fit slipcover I purchased is made of a suede-like microfiber. My husband and I watched as the cat tried to scratch it, but he quickly abandoned his old practice. Smooth fabrics just aren’t as appealing to cats. Victory is mine.

Advantages of using slipcovers:

A New Sofa for $65

Well, I’ll give Sure Fit this, I’m sure they picked the right winner. Egad.  Although, on two notes, I think this couch would fit in perfectly at the wood paneled house; also, quite possibly this couch is so bad, it’s almost cool. I know folks who would love this couch. Sad.

And just what does the winner of this contest get? A $5000 home makeover from Kim Myles, designer and host of HGTV’s Myles of Style and Sure Fit. Not bad.

I wonder what they’ll do with the old couch?
