Tomorrow is Take Your Dog to Work Day (TYDTWDay), celebrated since 1939!
I used to work in an office that took the holiday very seriously – complete with doggie races down Main Street and obstacle courses inside. If an employee didn’t have a dog, one could be borrowed for the day from a local shelter.
In fact, TYDTWDay is supposed to encourage adoption from humane societies, rescues and shelters.

June 20th is Take Your Dog to Work Day! I’m fortunate that my dogs are with me every day while I work, but now those who have to leave the house have an excuse to spend some extra time with the furrier members of the family!
Take Your Dog to Work Day was started in 1999 to celebrate companion dogs and encourage people to check out their local animal shelters and breed rescues. Businesses are also encouraged to welcome pets on this day to help promote adoptions.
