We found out the hard way when we took Jamie (six) and Britt (four) to England for the first time.

We had a cute little cottage in the country, complete with fields and cows. Neither had ever even heard a cow moo… which was hilarious the first time it mooed at them. But I’m just reminiscing here, I want to point out how important to make sure you pack something warm and fuzzy from home.

We forgot Britt’s teddy and she was devestated! Not only did she have to sleep in a room by herself, she didn’t have her teddy to keep her company. Guess who got the job… for the entire trip. Yes, the two of us shared a room for the entire two weeks.

And we have been best friends ever since!
