They are attractive, live relatively close, and do not appear to be cyber-stalkers. One of these guys made a comment about wanting to call her, so she gave him her phone number.

Has he called her? No, but he texts her constantly. Texting is not her favorite method of getting to know someone and she’s grown bored with him.

Why don’t people call anymore? Texting is a lazy way to communicate. It’s impersonal and it’s easy to lose track of a conversation if you are texting with more than one person at a time.

If you’ve got a guy who insists on texting, but you are longing to hear his voice again, try these tips from Cosmopolitan magazine:

*Tell him to call you. Be polite, but firm. Explain that texting is okay in a pinch, but you’d like him to follow up with a real phone call.

*Let him know you appreciate the call. My boyfriend uses his phone for listening to his sports. Every since baseball season started, I don’t hear from him as much. I make a point to tell him that I enjoyed talking to him when he does call. (He has a great voice).

*Keep the call simple. Keep it short. Don’t critique him. In fact, it’s probably a good thing to have a subject in mind before the call. That will help you to avoid those awkward silences that can panic even the most experienced dater.

Does your teen know where to draw their digital line?
To many teenagers (and adults for that matter) their mobile, IM and online accounts are a large part of who they are. When someone you’re involved with or a friend is controlling, disrespecting, or pressuring you in those spaces, THAT’S NOT COOL.
It can be difficult to express your concern or discomfort verbally, but Callout Cards are a fun, creative way to take some of that pressure off.

Sarah L. Woodruff, 20, Anderson, died Sunday afternoon after her vehicle went into the interstate’s median and rolled as many as six times before it came to rest on its roof. Woodruff was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from her car.

Investigators said the victim’s cell phone showed she was receiving text messages within three minutes of the first report of the accident at 12:51 p.m.

How completely horrible for the parents of this girl and for the person who was texting her – to know that your texting that person was the loaded gun that killed her?

I’m afraid I’d have a hard time forgiving the person texting my daughter – even if they had no idea the person was driving.
