Kate Sheppard, of Grist, Environmental News & Commentary, reports that three of George Bush’s recent Presidential pardons for people found guilty of crimes against nature.
• Daniel Figh Pue III, of Conroe, Texas, who was convicted of illegal treatment, storage, and disposal of a hazardous waste without a permit.
• Leslie Owen Collier, of Charleston, Mo., who pleaded guilty in 1995 to unlawfully killing three bald eagles in southeast Missouri. Apparently he was putting pesticide in hamburger meat in order to kill coyotes, but that killed a bunch of other animals, like these three bald eagles. Apparently I still have spuds on the brain…….
I feel like I’m coming down with a bit of a cold and I suspect it’s comfort that I’m seeking. I think I’ll make a big pot of Baked Potato Soup tonight. Anyone out there have a good recipe that they’d like to share? I’m always looking for something new to try.
