Did you catch the first episode of The Next Iron Chef Season 2 yesterday? If not, stop reading now, because I would hate to inadvertently spoil anything for you.
This season, the show, hosted by Alton Brown, will be judged by Anya Fernald, Donatella Arapai, and Jeffrey Steingarten (my least favorite Iron Chef judge). Fans of the Iron Chefshow will be familiar with Arapai and Steingarten, but I was unfamiliar with Frenald until last night. I liked her. She sounds knowledgeable, but she remains polite. I love reality tv, but I’m not a fan of rudeness and so many reality tv shows …read more

Guy Fieri is one of my favorite Food Network stars. I think it’s because of the energy and passion he puts into everything he does. I love to see people passionate about what they do.
I’ve been following Guy since he first made his appearance on The Next Food Network Star several years ago. I was rooting for him then, and I’m still rooting for him now.
I can’t wait to check out Guy’s latest Food Network show, The Guy Fieri Roadshow. The new show will combine food with rock and roll. Two of my favorite things.
Guy modeled this two hour food-a-palooza …read more

I’ve mentioned before that I’m a big fan of the Food Network. I love to get new ideas for dishes for my family, but even more than that, I love to watch the personalities. Part of the appeal of the network is watching the FN stars doing their thing. I might not always remember what Bobby Flay prepares, but I always remember how cute he looks when grilling.
When I started seeing the ads for Olympic gold medalist, Brian Boitano’s new show, “What Would Brian Boitano Make,” I really wasn’t very interested. I’m not a big figure skating fan and I …read more

Are you still following The Next Food Network Star? I’m behind on my updates, it seems like I never get to watch the show on Sunday nights. I’m always catching up when they reshow it later in the week.
If you missed last weeks show, you can catch the highlights here:
The 4 finalists had two contests they had to compete in. One was working in front of the camera and improvising when something goes wrong. The contestants didn’t know they were going to be sabotaged ahead of time.
The contestants also had to develop a new dish using one of the fish …read more
Who Cooks In Your Relationship?

It’s 9pm here – and I’m waiting for dinner.
See, the thing is that I am usually the cook here. But tonight, Paul decided he would cook. Recently Paul has been watching The Food Network and has decided that Gordon Ramsay is his role model for all things kitchen-related. Earlier today he brought home two cookbooks by Ramsay and had to make three trips to different grocery stores before he found all the necessary ingredients for his three course masterpiece.
Cooking for me is about function. I don’t particularly like it…but I do it because we’re trying to save money and have …read more
Sick Daze.
If you’re running a business at home as I do, you can’t pick up the phone and call in sick (or mentally challenged). You have to drag your sorry, sick behind into your office and try to get work done.
But here’s the thing…I thought that when I became my “own boss”, that those old feelings of guilt would disappear. You know what I mean, you’d call in sick (legitimately), spend the day in bed, watching Food Network — $40 A Day is on A-Gain! — but while you were supposed to be resting, you’d feel horrible for having taken the …read more
