Spending time with your parents
There’s a discussion going on at the Wall Street Journal column, The Juggle, about finding time for your parents.
The discussion centers around adult children who live away from their parents, and, how people find the time to stay connected.
I chimed in that no matter where you live in relation to your parents, sometimes the busy lives of both parties make it difficult to spend time together. The Wall Street Journal has a blog called, The Juggle, that “covers choices and tradeoffs that people make as they juggle work and family”, certainly pertinent to the issues many of us face.
Author Sara Schaefer Munoz points to a Forbes article called, “CEO Caregivers“, which shows that anyone can be inducted into the Sandwich Generation. However, as Munoz points out, not everyone can afford the solution taken by the man in the article, which was to outsource his parents’ care to SeniorBridge, a care management provider.
