The Safe Dog Handbook for dog owners outlines a lot of safety points, both basic and some lesser known on the care and keeping of your four-legged friends.

I wrote last week about the new book “The Safe Dog Handbook” by Melanie Monteiro. Melanie was inspired to write the book after her own puppy was nearly poisoned.
The spiral-bound book covers pretty much everything you can imagine when it comes to the safety of your pup, including foods and plants that are not okay for dogs, and tips on keeping your home dog-proofed and safe.

After her own Labrador puppy was nearly poisoned, author Melanie Monteiro was inspired to put together The Safe Dog Handbook for dog owners outlining a lot of safety points, both basic and some lesser known.
The handbook discusses the basics like choking hazards to keep an eye out for, how to keep Halloween costumes safe, and of course, no chocolate, but it also talks about lesser known dangers like raisins and xylitol, which can be found in sweets and non-sweets (especially useful to know this time of year).
