Heading off to New York to see a Broadway show is a great vacation idea. I know that I’ve made that trip a time or two, but am still always behind in seeing the latest crop of Broadway shows.

“Rapunzel” Has Lost Her Hair

At least she has in Karen Boettcher-Tate adaptation of the fairy tale. The Phipps Center in Hudson, Wisconsin is presenting this new twist on the classic Grimm Brothers story later this month. Things start off commonly enough… Rapunzel’s dad gets nabbed for petty larceny by a witch and pays the standard first-born fine. After that it gets a little odd.
When the German brothers wrote the classic tale almost 200 years ago, they may not have imagined that their heroine would have the last name Schwartzbuckle. Nor would they have guessed that eyeglasses and baldness would figure prominently in the story …read more
