Travelers have been keeping diaries dating back to the 2nd century AD, when the Greek geographer Pausanias write Description of Greece based on his notes and observations from his travels.

Exhibition Includes Travel Journals

After reading this news story I was a little envious. The Through the Whole Island: excursions in Great Britain exhibition uses travel as the theme to bring together an “eclectic mix of exhibits.” The exhibiton is named after the book by Daniel Defoe titled: A Tour Through the Whole Island of Great Britain.

The Journal I Won

The other week I shared my good news with you, how I’d won an Intrinsic journal. Well, the journal arrived today in the mail. I took a few photos, but the light wasn’t so good today with all the rain we’re having. I hope you can see the cover okay in this photo.

Dave Fox has an excellent journal writing resource as one of his many websites. Writing the Inner Journey; Self-Discovery Through Travel Writing is an online course. Stand out articles include The Inner Journey, The Outer Journey and Speed Journaling. I recommend you read any of his articles for great tips on keeping a journal, even if you’ve never travelled anywhere before.
