How To: Lunch Bag
Tired of throwing away your brown paper lunch bag everyday? We could all be a little more green with this crafty project! Sure, the girls will like this one more than the boys but it should be tons of fun for them.
They get to cut up an old pair of pants, personalize their lunch bag and THEN take it with them the first day of school. How cool is that?

How To: Welcome Home Snacks
How fun would it be to have mom and your siblings make you a welcome home snack in a funtabulous snack box? It certainly isn’t an ordinary day when mom does that, is it?
I know I LOVED when my mom left me cute little notes in my lunch or carved me heart sandwiches. But to have her and my brother make me a snack box? Now that would be super cool!
Bright Ideas has the instructions and the “ingredients” to make this after school treat.
How to: Choose a Good Pediatrician
I admit, our first pediatrician was a bust…and we fired him because he refused to test AJ for H Pylori, something that AJ had (and was so riddled with that he still has after-effects now, 1.5 years after eradicating it).
I had taken the advice of a neighboring parent who loved this pediatrician and I thought he was going to be really good. He just did not have the time for us, nor the
How To: A Russian Valentine
Russians do celebrate Valentine’s Day but on a lesser scale. They wish each other “Happy Valentine’s Day” and “Congratulations” and wish each other good luck in finding a loved one.
Traditional gifts are chocolate but girls don’t have to give the gifts, boys do. Sounds right, eh?

How To: A Mayan Board Game
I have searched everywhere for some Mayan Traditions and it seems as if nothing has really been either written down or translated into English or onto the Internet. I would probably have more luck with books but who has time for the library these days?
Bul is a Mayan Board Game
Bul can be played an an even number of participants and each player has 5 game pieces. It can be an available item; seeds, sticks, cloth, corn, etc. Game pieces seem to be taken captured or killed so the game is similar to a war game.

How To: Pancake Shapes
Last year I started making AJ fun pancake shapes when I saw a magazine article in Family Fun Magazine. I make him letters, numbers, ghosts, and even teddy bears.
I made an AJ with a simple spoon (and so did Family Fun Magazine) but I found this handy site that actually helps you create fantastic pancake designs. You do need a
pastry bag for these fun shapes (or better yet? Buffaloes and Butterfly Wings says to use an empty mustard bottle
and check out that train!). You can also use an altered plastic bag. Just fill the plastic ziploc bag with the thin …read more

How to: A Break Box
In our house we have what is called a Break Box for beating the winter blues and for days when AJ just needs to relax. Because of his sensory regulatory issues we have almost all of his toys put away and in the toy closet (and locked up). If he wants to get something he needs to use his words to ask for a particular item and then we put it back at the end of the night.
Right now, AJ is very attached to one or two things and carries them around all day. He has even attempted to take …read more
Cookie Gift Bag
I love making crafts with AJ, mainly because of the excitement he has for his finished product. Some of the best crafts are also ones that you can share with others though…grandmas, grandpas, teachers, etc.
Have a baked good to share? Have a gift to give?
Make a Gift Bag of your own with a paper bag. All you have to do is give your little one paint, colors, and let them decorate it.
