In celebration of the upcoming holiday, the b5media Lifestyles Channel participated in their own little carnival, hearts and flowers, hugs and kisses…

I showed what you can do with a simple running stitch earlier, but you can also use french knots to make the Valentine’s day cards as well:
It’s definitely more time consuming, but I like the look of the little decorative knots around each layer of felt.

These are one of my favorite Valentine’s day projects (it’s actually one of the classes I teach) These cards are made from different colors of felt & embroidered with simple running stitches. Pinking shears add a nice detail to the edges – but don’t worry if you don’t have a pair! I use pre-folded blank cards (my local craft store carries them in bulk packs)
I also glued on a few little heart-shaped buttons as well
Have fun & play with different layouts! Felt is great for projects like this because it’s easy to embroider and won’t fray.
