The new Kitchen Countdown features 1 pot, 5 ingredients, cost $10 or less, take 15 minutes or less to prepare, and contain 400 calories or less per serving. Morningstar Farms Newsletter

I registered with Morningstar Farms today. They have a newsletter and all sorts of tips and recipes available. There are sections on nutrition and meal planning.
You can learn about new products or find new ways to use old favorites, for example, there’s a recipe for Qesadillas that uses the Morningstar Farms Hickory BBQ Riblets. (I love those riblets).

Robin’s Baked Brie Dip

My sister, Robin, is in town for a visit and I asked her for a recipe recommendation. She shared a fancy Baked Brie Dip that is very simple to make. My sister is a wonderful cook.
Baked Brie Dip in a Bread Bowl
1 cup white wine
1/2 cup butter (1 cube)
2 TBs Thyme
1 large white onion
1 round of Brie
1 large sourdough bread, round, hollowed out to hold Brie, save extra bread for dipping
*Sourdough bread cubes and Granny Smith apple slices for dipping.

My kids go back to school early this year, on August 12th. As much as I love school supply shopping (new notebooks! new pens!), I feel like my mind is still set to Summer and I’m still a bit school-resistant.
Best to ease on in with……..food. Below, are some of my tried and true vegetarian school-day lunch ideas.

Fancy Saturday Morning Waffles with Mangos

I love to make something special on the weekend for breakfast. I don’t always have time, but when I do I like to make some sort of pancakes (usually banana) or waffles (usually with little mini chocolate chips). Netxt time I’m going to make something new and just a bit fancier, like these waffles from L’Auberge Provencale, in White Post, Virginia……
