Sew Your Own Vintage-Look Wedding Dress

There are some wonderful vintage wedding dresses out there – as well as some lovely vintage dresses that would work as wedding dresses!
But what if you don’t like the fabric it’s made out of?

Or what if it’s too small?

Or bits of it are falling apart!

Luckily, there are pattern companies who are making vintage-style patterns for modern bodies. Vogue has some lovely ones in their catalog:

Click on the patterns for more information.
Of course, if you prefer to work from the original sewing patterns, So Vintage Patterns is the place for you!

Vintage toy patterns from Simplicity

Do you have fond memories of playing with dress-me dolls or yo-yo toys when you were a child?
Simplicity Patterns are re-releasing some of their most popular vintage kids toy patterns.  So the next generation of kids can have as much fun playing with soft toys as you did!
Check out some of their charming patterns – I love the dog and horse from 2763:

They’ve also released the classic “Learn How To Dress” doll, complete with shoelaces, zippers, buttons and more:

And for the yo-yo fans – there’s the Yo-yo Doll collection (pattern #2708):

“Mom’s Patterns” is an online store with a treasure-trove of discontinued sewing patterns from the 1940s all the way to freshly-discontinued patterns.
You can browse by decade, pattern company or even size – it’s a great resource if you’re looking for one of those unique patterns.
