Camp Weary Parent Goes Patriotic

Happy Independence Day week everyone!  We will be thinking red, white, blue and fun this week and we theme our activities around the USA’s birthday on July 4th. Our community actually celebrated early this year and we watched fireworks last night. It was a perfect family evening and it definitely put me in the right mindset for the week.
The kids can get ready for the holiday by designing their own virtual and very safe fireworks display at:

Phantom Fireworks – create your own fireworks show in a variety of cities

Virtual Fireworks Fun

Happy Fourth of July to everyone! I hope you have something fun planned for the day.
Here are a few fun sites for the kids to play with while waiting for the real fireworks to start:

National Fire Prevention Association’s Design Your Own Display
Interactive Fireworks from Phantom Fireworks
4th of July word search and word scramble

And don’t forget to stay safe!  Fifty percent of the injuries from fireworks happen to children under 14.
