Long Distance: Transitions Are Difficult

In a long distance relationship there are two separate relationships: the one when you are apart and the one when you are together. The interactions between you and your long distance partner are entirely different from when you are communicating by phone to when you are communicating face to face.

So, I’ve had family in town recently. My sister was in town for a few days, as well as an uncle of mine that I only see once every few years, usually. So cute to see my boys hanging out with my uncles!!!
Anyway, whenever there’s a relative of mine in town, we pretty much hold off on scheduling anything else until we know what the plans are with my family. That’s how it’s been since I was a kid.
