However, exercise is beneficial for more than just being able to wear our jeans again after holiday food consumption. 
Studies show that moderate exercise such as walking may be associated with a lower risk of vascular dementia in people in their sixties. 
However, the effect doesn&#8217;t necessarily extend to reducing the risk of Alzheimer&#8217;s Disease, a different disease mechanism than vascular dementia.
