Many of you entered our contest for the book Cube Chic, and for good reason. Cube life can get a bit boring! With a book like this you could get ideas to spruce up your workplace. (And you spend enough time there, so why not?)

Our winner, chosen randomly, was Nicole! Nicole said, “I would LOVE to win this so I could decorate my husband’s cube. He’s always complaining about how plain it is. There’s a woman 2 down from him that has a beautiful one w/ all kinds of plants and flowers.”
See, it’s not just the woman that like to have a happy work space! Nicole, if you do end up redecorating your husband’s cube, be sure to send us before and after pics! You might inspire someone else to give their cube a makeover.

And the BlackBerry Pearl Winner is…

Thanks to all of you who signed up to win the BlackBerry Pearl 8100. There were so many charming and heartfelt comments that I wish I could raid the TMobile store and send one to everyone. But…I have only one phone.

Here was the highly scientific way we devised to find a winner. First, we printed out all the comments. Then we cut out each one..

… and balled them up and tossed them in a bowl. We actually had to switch over to a larger bowl, which helped mix them up a bit.

Then I let my son select the winner.
And the winner is – Maleia (a.k.a. commenter #9.) She says she’s a faithful reader, so that’s way cool. Congratulations Maleia. I hope your new BlackBerry gives you hours of addictive pleasure.

Prenatal Dance Fitness

Recently we held a giveaway for a prenatal dance fitness DVD, and the winner is: Allison! Allison was chosen at random and said in her comment, “This would be fantastic–I’m in my 2nd trimester and would love to be a bit more in shape for delivery and so maybe the 3rd trimester (during the summer…) will be a little more bearable!”
Congrats, Allison! I know you’re going to love this DVD.

I caught an article recently that talked about staying in shape during pregnancy, and one of the points was to not rely on your heart to see if you’ve overdone it. Great point. When a regular person exercises, it’s easy to see when we’re at our limit because our heart rate goes up and breathing becomes labored. But working out when you are pregnant is a whole different thing. So be careful and only do what feels good to your body. This DVD should be a great start.

Winner of the Care4Hire Package

Caring for our loved ones today can be a difficult thing. You hear so much about people that are less than reputable when it comes to caring for our children or even elders. It’s scary. That’s why so many of you entered our Care4Hire giveaway package. The winner of that giveaway is: Courtney!

Congrats to Courtney, and if you didn’t win, I came across a good article on what to say when interviewer a caregiver. In addition, it also has tips for how to successfully hire someone, and one of the points that stuck out for me was defining the job description. It isn’t enough just to say you want them to “watch” your kid or parent, you’ve got to define what else that may entail. Do the duties include taking them to the doctor? Doing laundry? Interacting with them? Be specific in order to find the best possible person for your loved one.

Winner of Love Brings Out the Child T Shirt
April 20, 2009 by Cherie Burbach
Congratulations to Diane! She is the winner of our giveaway for the Love Brings Out the Child tee shirt. This shirt is too adorable for words, I know she’s going to love it.

Speaking of maternity tees, I was just reading an interesting fact that one out of every five searches on Yahoo for the words “maternity clothes” were conducted by men. Interesting… but how’d they figure out men were behind the search? It’s not like they can tell what gender we are by our computer alone. Right? Then again, with all the technology in the world, perhaps they can!
Another interesting fact? “July through October are the months when most Americans are born.”
