More Dangers of Tamoxifen

Make no mistake, Tamoxifen has been shown to do some amazing things when it comes to the treatment of breast cancer. Women who take the drug for five years “are less likely to die of breast cancer” and even more astonishing, less likely to have it return. However, as with many drugs, Tamoxifen has some side effects and dangers also.

Wash. Island Opens Women’s Health Center

A nurse practitioner from Washington Island, Kimberly Scheer, is opening a women’s only health center on the island next week. The clinic will specialize in “menstrual issues, family planning, breast health and health care throughout a woman’s reproductive life cycle.”
Scheer said, “I just feel like women have special needs. Women’s needs aren’t always adequately addressed. Women don’t always feel like they can talk about certain issues, and providers don’t always ask.”
