Have you heard about new dating services that match singles based on their DNA? Instead of filling out forms with pages of personal questions, applicants for these matchmaking services send in a swab from the inside of their cheek for DNA analysis. I just read a fabulously interesting article in Women’s Health Magazine by Andrew Postman called “Your DNA looks hot tonight” about new scientifically-advanced versions of online dating services.
In 2007 Eric Holzle founded a service called scientificmatch.com as a DNA matchmaking site for those living in the Boston/Providence region. The service is based on three MHC (Major Histocompatibility Complex) …read more
Stress and Stress-busters

Everyday I get an email from Women’s Health magazine reminding me to take part in their daily sweepstakes. The prizes usually follow a monthly theme. For example, fitness products or beauty products. This month the theme is fashion. Anyway, to enter the sweepstakes, you take part in a daily poll. The questions touch on subjects like dating, sex, etc. They use the results for future features in the magazine.
Today the question concerned over-eating and stress. The question was, “Do you eat more when stressed out?” The possible choices were, “Yes. No. Doesn’t apply to me.”
Doesn’t apply to me? This one …read more
Working Out and What To Eat

Women’s Health Magazine, my very favorite magazine (I’m a big magazine fan), has a piece on food choices and working out. They take two common items and compare them.
The first offering is a Honey Stinger Chocolate Rocket versus a McDonald’s Egg McMuffin. Guess which one wins? A bar built for energizing or a fatty, salty, breakfast sandwich?
Surprise! It’s the Egg McMuffin. The McMuffin has a good balance of protein, carbs, and fat, plus it’s an entire meal in a bun. Or err, …English Muffin. I am a big Egg McMuffin fan. I don’t purchase them very often, because they run …read more

Would you consider yourself the average woman? Do you think you know how the average woman feels and acts in her romantic relationships?
Consider the following questions:

*33
*45

OR
4) How long does the average single woman’s relationship last?
*about a month
*two to six months
*six months to a year
If you answered “33″ to 1 and “six months to a year” to 4, then you just might be an expert on the average woman who is dating. To find out for sure, take the Women’s Health Magazine’s quiz – The Average Woman On Dating.

I appreciate some insight, some little peek into the male mind. Jonathan Mile’s offers up 11 Things Men Love About Women, at Women’s Health Magazine.
Looking for a quick clue? They appreciate strength and patience and the ability to fix stuff, just as much as we ladies do. They love us in a skirt and heels, sure, but they also think we’re cute fresh from the gym, ponytail damp, and smelling a little on the funky side. Who knew?

Recently Nicole Beland, Women’s Health magazines’s features director appeared with Matt Titus, author of Why Hasn’t He Called, on the CBS The Early Show, to discuss the phenomena of men dating above their station – their looks station. You can see the clip for yourself at /www.womenshealthmag.com/
Ralph Kramden, portly bus driving husband of Alice, played by Jackie Gleason on the Honeymooners, was cited as a perfect example. I’m fairly certain Videos Online</that the combo – beautiful bombshell paired with chubby everyman – is meant as a visual punch line, but these couples exist in real life, as well.
Man is thought to be genetically predisposed …read more

We’ve all heard stories and theories about cheaters and why they cheat. I’m more interested in the guy who doesn’t cheat. What is his secret? Is it religion? Does he have a lower sex drive? Or the opposite – a super hunger for his woman and his woman only? Does he lack opportunity? Does he possess the will of………well a very, very strong-willed person?
Joe Kita shares his personal experience and opinion in Cheating On Your Wife – To Cheat Or Not To Cheat? over at Women’s Health Magazine. Married for 23 years, Kita has never cheated and considers his being faithful something that he can’t share with his buddies. It is …read more
Do Men Worry About What They See When They Look In the Mirror?

Do you think that women are the only ones asking the question, “Do these pants make me look fat?” I did and apparently I was only part right. While reading an opinion piece, by Mike Zimmerman, on Male Body Image in Women’s Health Magazine, I learned that men do worry about body image, but men according to Zimmerman, “…will, however, check the mirror and wonder, “Do these pants hide my gut enough to get me laid?” It’s the same thing fundamentally, and it defines that irresistible logic gap we all try to leap: If the body looks like crap, recalibrate the …read more
