Yard sales are a joy to hold. You clear your home of items that may be of better use to others, at the same time make money out of it. Here are some tips on how to ensure your yard sale is a success:
Timing. Weekends are best. Start early too. Why not time it on payday weekend as well?

I’ve discovered that browsers at my yard sales frequently are looking for beads and other craft supplies. My granddaughter had several containers of beads she no longer needed, so placed them in the yard sale this weekend.
My curiosity often gets the better of me, and I ask what the customer plans to do with them. This leads to interesting and informative conversations.
Various uses for beads acquired at yard sales:

Did You Visit the 600-mile Yard Sale?

“My friends are off visiting the World’s Longest Yard Sale,” a customer at my small yard sale in New Hampshire remarked yesterday.
“The World’s Longest Yard Sale?“ I asked, puzzled.
“Yes,” he said,  and explained that it extended along Route 127 for 600 miles.  His friends mentioned that towns closed off entire streets and you could wander down these visiting sidewalk sales and booths.

Kids’ Garage Sale Success

All week long the kids have been counting down the days until Saturday. Why? Simple, last week they made some money doing a yard sale and wanted to try their hand at it again. Now they made less than $10 last week but they were inspired by this and wanted to do better.
