Enjoy Portable Stitching Projects

I first began taking my stitching with me when I was making clothing for my daughter and myself, or had hemming projects for customers. Something that required hand stitching and was small, I could carry with me in the car. It was a way, also, to maximize my time when we were driving some distance.
My daughter began quilting when she had to wait in doctors’ offices and hospitals during her husband ’s seige with cancer. She chose projects she could hand stitch while she sat there.

Are You Quilting With Your Youngsters During Vacation?

What activities are you involved in with the youngsters of your life during the holiday vacation from school? Yes, if you live in snow country, you may be skiing, snowboarding, sledding or ice skating.
However, when you come indoors, or live in snow free climes, you might sit and quilt, as I did with my grandmother, or my daughter and granddaughter do. My daughter often sat beside me as I sewed quilts for customers and would practice stitching her pieces together. (Now she’s become an expert fabric artist and designer.)
