Here’s a music video, put together by the Philadelphia ‘chapter’ of the Young Survival Coalition. Young survivors … loosely defined as those diagnosed at 40 and under.
You know I love the song “I Run for Life” by Melissa Ethridge and that’s what’s playing in this one, too. Check it out:

I’m a young survivor … I was diagnosed at age 35. How old were you?

A gorgeous flyer showed up in the mail today, a postcard really, with what looks like a strand of pink ribbon pearls on one side and sure enough … it is a strand of “pink ribbon” pearls.
The headline reads: “Everything is possible with Hope.”
The tagline … “Mikimoto: The originator of cultured pearls since 1893.”
On the center of the card is a stunning pearl bracelet with a gold ribbon toggling between two pearls. The picture is gorgeous — I imagine the real thing is divine! (Well, here: see for yourself! Don’t you agree?)

After I’d spent enough time gazing longing at the bracelet, I flipped the card. Turns out Mikimoto is supporting the Young Survival Coalition for the fourth consecutive year through the sales of a special collection, inspired by the pink ribbon. 20% of proceeds from the sale of the jewelry in this collection goes to the YSC.

After a quick inquiry I learned that:

“Originally launched in October 2005 to coincide with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Mikimoto created this collection in an ongoing effort to draw attention to this important cause and raise funds to benefit women all over the country. As a company that sells products for women, Mikimoto has a long history supporting charities that promote women’s causes.”

So, fyi, this ‘Everything is Possible with Hope’ bracelet retails for $1,050. Would make an amazing Mother’s Day gift. Amazing.
