2008 Bloggy Giveaway

Can you believe that this year’s Bloggy Giveaways are here again already? If you’ve participated last year, you probably remember that they run for one week, which means you can enter through October 31st.
This year’s prizes were donated by Beth from Diffraction. Her lovely pieces are created using photos she takes and then turns into jewelry. They are quite nice and I’m rather jealous of the winners! (I’d like to let you choose your prize, but since you both might like the same one, I’m going to just randomly pick the peacock earrings winner first and then the ivy earrings winner.)
If you fall in love with a piece and you aren’t one of the lucky winners, you’ll be happy to know that this is one jeweler who has a thrifty heart. Almost all the pieces I saw in the Etsy shop were under $25. It helps that Diffraction is currently offering free shipping, too.
To enter, as always, just leave a comment. It would be great if the comment was related to your thrifty accessorizing tips, but you can just say, “I want to enter!” too.
Fine Print: Void where prohibited by law. Value of the prize is $25 or less. Winners will be drawn using Random.org on November 1st and the prizes will be mailed at my expense to the winners.
By the way, don’t forget the other contests going on at Simply Thrifty right now. Jennifer has an awesome Little Monsters costume contest going on and I’ve got free frozen meal coupons from Kahiki to give to ten lucky readers!

I love the blog!
Oh my goodness, those are so cute!!! I am at the stage in my life where I would proudly wear a fruit loop necklace made by my children…very practical…looks great
and taste yummy so therefore you can let the kids eat it and keep them occupied, talk about thrifty, lol!
I absolutely adore the peacock earrings! Enter me please. I don’t know if I would keep them or give them as a fabulous Christmas gift! hmmm…. efuson_2000 at yahoo dot com
I love the peacock earrings. Your post reminded me of the year I took wire hoops and added Christmas icicles to them. I thought they were the best. I have to admit, though, I did get some laughs.
My mom loves earrings and I’m trying to win them for her.
The peacock are beautiful!
I love the peacock earings! I usually make my jewelry from ribbons, buttons, and charms I find…I don’t really have any thrifty tips though
ACK! Those peacock earrings are GORGEOUS! I need them
I’ll admit it…I’m not good at being thrifty w/anything. However, I have made some of my own jewelry in the past…does that count?
I make most of my own jewelry and I admire other peoples abilities and talents. The peacock earrings are so pretty!
Great giveaway…thanks for the chance to enter!
(I am giving away a total blog makeover as part of the bloggy carnival – http://apronstringsaflutter.com/?p=840)
Super cute earrings! I wish I had some thrifty accessorizing tips. My BFF is the thrifty accessories queen. She finds the prettiest jewelry in the strangest places.
I love jewelry that also doubles as great conversation pieces. I always wear the same diamond studs everyday, so it would be great to mix it up a bit!
Here’s my hint: pick up some of those lovely earrings!
Heehee. Every piece of jewelry I wear right now is something handmade off of etsy!
How pretty!
One of my favourite accessories is a simple brass necklace with moon and star charms accented with rhinestones. Believe it or not, I got it over 13 years ago when my older sister received it as a Sweet 16 gift and rejected it!
I’m selfishly glad she did because it makes me feel cheery and light, and I get complimented on it every time I wear it.
Thanks for a generous giveaway. I hope I’m the lucky winner.
Great giveaway! Thanks for the chance!
Those are absolutely adorable, I especially love the leave ones!
Love the peacocks…gorgeous stuff!
Fabulous!!! Please enter me too!
My thriftiness means I haven’t had any new jewelry is so, so long. This would be such a treat! And what beautiful items.
Gorgeous! My fashion tip: develop a signature look–maybe it’s clunky pendants, unique earrings, or something else. That way you always look put together.
Hmm…thrifty accessorizing tips. Well, I do wear the same basic jewelry for everyday…hoop earrings and my watch. Then I just look for deals on other things for special occasions–the holidays are a great time to shop for costume jewelry.
Very lovely earrings.Love the leaves.
I know my mom would love those peacock earrings. I would love to win them for her for Christmas. Please enter me too!
I love the ivy leaves…what a unique set of earrings!! It amazes me the things people make!
Hmm, thifty accessorizing? Go without? lol I’m just now getting back into jewelry after just wearing my wedding set for so long. My kids are finally past the ‘must yank shiny things’ stage so I can wear pretty stuff again. I do check out the silverjewelryclub.com once in a while for earrings. I think you only pay $5 for shipping? I’ve bought before & was pleased with the quality.
Thanks for the giveaway! I’ve got a Target GC up for grabs, come on by & enter.
Soooo pretty! Love the idea of using photos to make jewelry!
My thrifty jewelry tip hm…I wear whatever my kidlets make me…this includes (but is not limited to) twist tie rings, clover tiaras, macaroni noodle necklaces, walmart smiley sticker earrings, and the occasional pipecleaner-&-pony-bead bracelet….:) ty so much for the chance to win either of these, I esp love the ivy ones!
My thrifty accessorizing is that I almost never buy accessories, relying instead on what is given to me or what is in my closet. I used to be pretty stylish, but I don’t always try very hard.
I love the ivy earrings!
I tend to keep things thrifty by never buying any clothing that is brand new and hitting up library book sales for new things to read.
THANKS for an AWESOME giveaway! She has so many lovely things on her site. I love the Autumn Maple Drop Earrings! They are so pretty!!!
I wish I had a thrifty tip for you. I honestly don’t see myself as a thrifty person when it comes to accessories except trying to make things myself.
OMG! I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have those peacok earrings. I would do a peacock birdcall for those. Honest I would. LOVE em. They are gaw-jus!
Those are so pretty! I would love to win.
I absolutely love the peacock earrings! I’m a huge fan of unusual earrings!
love those both!
enter me please
I love picking up jewlery from the good will, you would be surprised what awesome stuff you can find there, even vintage!!! they don’t know what they are getting so it’s often way cheaper than going to the actual thrift store!

All of their jewelry is just lovely!
Thrifty accessorizing tip? I took 16G sterling silver wire and created a choker. I can easily slide on pendants of all sorts…1 necklace, many pendants. =)
I’ve become a fan of Etsy, especially the jewelry. Love the peacock earrings.
I like the peacock earrings, they’re soooooo cool
Peacock earrings are the most unique and well designed earrings for this price I have seen. Please enter me for this wonderful prize.
What beautiful, unique earrings! I love the purple pansies. They are delicate and gorgeous. The ever changing leaves earrings are also a favorite.
Those are gorgeous! I have a friend I would love to give them to for Christmas. Thank you. :O)
Darling earrings! Please enter me to win. Thank you!
I love the ivy! I usually take beaded necklaces that break (daughter that loves to pull on them) and redo them into bracelets or earrings!
What a fine contest – thank you
I’d love to win either of these prizes. They are both very imaginative.
