24 Things To Make – A Crafty Christmas Countdown

I’ve been stocking all 24 of the Christmas Advent calendar pockets with little treats (Since I bought the Playmobil Advent calendar this year, too, the kids have to countdown twice each day. I’m sure they’ll be heartbroken…) and it was so much fun that I thought I’d give you all an Advent post – 24 things you can make for a crafty Christmas.
Get out your hot glue gun, your buttons, your glitter…and let’s get crafting!
1. You can’t get much cheaper than this simple snowflake wreath I made the other day. Under $5 for a wreath that was really fast and easy to make.
2. Giving gift cards? If you don’t want to buy a $5 gift card holder for a $5 gift card (I’m hoping the thought didn’t even enter your mind!!) then you’ll want to check out this cute machine embroidered gift card holder pattern.
3. If you had fun embroidering gift cards, you won’t want to miss this iron on transfer ornament idea.
4. For melt your heart cuteness, have your kids make fingerprint snowman ornaments to give to their grandparents or other doting family members.
5. Quilters will love to make these sweet yo yo ornaments.
6. If you are a ribbon hoarder, you’ll want to part with some of your stash to make this awesome pinecone ribbon ornament.
7. Dress up clear ornaments to create beautiful family heirlooms.
8. Use some of those flower blossoms you dried this summer to make more ornaments.
9. Like to bake? Make checkerboard cookies to give as gifts.

19. Surprise balls are perfect for filling the toe of a child’s stocking.
20. Stitch up this craft apron to give to a crafty friend or relative this Christmas.
21. Organize your shelves with magazine holders to make room for all your decorations or make some as gifts for people who need organizing help.
22. Force some paperwhites and other bulbs with a recycling project from Country Living.
23. Make a few of these easy eyeglass case projects for stocking stuffers for adults.
24. Finish up with the sweetest little felt ornaments.
There you have it. 24 days of handmade fun. Just promise you won’t be mad at me if your house is in shambles because you spent 24 days blog surfing instead of decorating the house. It took me five hours to put this list together because I kept wandering off to explore interesting things.
