A Few Resolutions

I’m not big on personal resolutions. I make them but after a couple of months I forget what it is I actually resolved to do. Though Mr. Ng and I have a nice rosy outlook for 2008, we have plans to fix up the house so we can sell it in another couple of years. With that in mind here are a few of my Thrifty resolutions:
Cut Down on the Starbucks: I love me some Starbucks White Chocolate Mocha and treat myself every couple of mornings or so. I do feel I’m justified, I don’t do a lot of personal shopping. Certainly everyone deserves a treat once in a while. Still, I can save a few dollars a week by treating myself once a week or once a month.
Visit the Supermarket Less Often: I don’t go to the supermarket and buy up things I don’t need, but I do run out a couple of times a week for things I’m out of. I think some of this may be boredom. As a work at home Mom, I’m always, well, home. Finding errands to run breaks up my day. I resolve to visit the library or go for a walk when I’m bored rather than visit the shops.
Open a Personal Savings Account: I have a checking account for bills and stuff and my husband and I have a savings account, but I’d like an account where I can put away a couple of dollars each time I’m paid. Maybe in a few years I can buy something interesting.
I don’t have too many thrifty resolutions because my family is good about saving. It doesn’t hurt to take some time out to reflect at the end of each year and think about ways to save.
What are your thrifty resolutions for 2008?

Visit the Supermarket Less Often LOL. its on my list too.
i have been living the frugal life since oct and one of the 1st things i did was stopped running to the supermarket everyday and i think it was out of boredom now i go twice a fortnite because i have put myself on a strict budget and its working im using up everything in my freezer and pantry and making things from scratch and saving my precious money at 1st i felt deprived but not now its become a hobby and its fun
i agree visit the supermarket less and save more
Deb, You might want to try looking online for a recipe similar to your starbucks fave. My favorite is a caramel macchiato. I found a recipe online and now my husband is searching for a good deal on an espresso machine for me.
