Thrifty Mommy

A new page for Thrifty Mommy

November 20, 2007 by kellys

We at Thrifty Mommy realize that there are all kinds of folks that we are blessed to have reading our rants. Some are short like Karen and I, sorry girlfriend but you know you are, and some are tall. Some are in the US and some are in Europe and some in Asia. We are learning from all of you just as we hope you take little tid bits from us. So I decided to add one more dimension to Thrifty Mommy. I decided to be daring in hopes that I don’t offend any readers but will not change the new addition if I do.

If you look to the right side of our blog, you will see that there are several pages you can view. These pages are set aside and available quickly. Well, I decided to be a little risky and place a prayer page up for anyone who wants to post a prayer request. Karen and I love to pray and would love to pray for you and your life. So if you want prayer for any reason, feel free to leave a comment and know that you are loved and prayed for. As the Prayer Page states, there will be no negative or inappropriate comments published. This is the only page we sensor stringently as we want to protect all of you who are willing to participate. So go over and feel free to leave a prayer request or pray for one.

Thanks for indulging us in this.

Yay! I’m excited about this new addition. :)

  2. Karen says:

    Oh, a prayer request. lol

Pray for everyone as they are traveling this week. Pray for our troops that are away from home. I hear that morale is very good over there, but I know it is hard being away from home for the holidays.

  3. Melissa says:

Please pray for my family. My grandfather is in the stages of Alzheimer’s and unfortunately he is a danger to himself and others. We are having a difficult and emotional time trying to find a nursing home to accommodate his needs. Please pray that we find the best place for him.

  4. Jennifer says:

This is fabulous! Here’s a woman who could use all of our prayers…I ran across her site yesterday and her story broke my heart into a million little pieces. Please pray for Debi! Here’s some background information: http://dsimple.wordpress.com/where-things-stand-today/

    Thanks, Karen!

  5. Drarma Mama says:

For my brother – he has Crohn’s and a wedding coming up. He may need another surgery and he’s trying to put it off until after the wedding…pray that cures are discovered for all these diseases, too. I know that’s a big one, but prayers do get answered. My friend’s son had bone cancer and they recently found spots on his lungs. He was about to start the chemo again, but he insisted he be scanned first! He told the doctor that he believed he was healed. The scan showed NOTHING. The doctors didn’t believe it so they are going back later this week for another scan. That’s a prayer of thanksgiving! I appreciate this new page…I am thanking God we can stay connected this way…Amen =)

  6. carolyn says:

Thanks girls! This is something that is needed.

I also have a request for prayer for my son. He has a life style that needs help.

I’m also thankful for so many blessings.

  7. kellys says:

I am thanking God that you have responded is such a great way. Thank you and we are praying for you all.

  8. Myron WW Buckhalter says:

There is only one true power and it comes from above. Great job gals, keep the Great Physician lifted up.

  9. tanyetta says:

What a great idea! I am very thankful that my husband is home this year for the holidays. Thank you for all your prayers and support. ;)

  10. Kate says:

I support you because your prayers are free and that thriftiness is on topic.

  11. Kate says:

Well, I don’t even know if I should be wasting prayer energy on this, but I need prayers for an email comment from a qualified expert for the article I am writing. I fear I am going to miss my deadline, lose a hefty fee and have a pretty slim Christmas.

  12. kellys says:

Kate, there is no such thing as wasted prayer energy! Did you get the email in time?

  13. Kate says:

No exactly. I asked my editor for more time and got it. I think everything will be just fine, even if it hasn’t gone according to plan.

  14. kellys says:

We are praying for you all. Thank you for letting us be a part of your lives.

  15. Hey guys, I love the idea of this page! Kudos to Kelly and Karen :) If you have some time tomorrow around noon PST, I’d love some prayers as I learn if I need heart surgery. I’m kind of freaked out… Here’s the post on it: http://sleepyblogger.com/?p=734

  16. kellys says:

Robyn, we are praying for you and hope that you will get good news. Let us know how it goes.

  17. jessica says:

Please pray for my brother. He’s having a hard time with where his bad decisions have taken him. Sometimes he’s so depressed, and it really worries me that he will do something harmful to himself. Please pray that he will find hope from God instead of getting upset when we mention Him.

  18. kellys says:

How are you guys doing? We have been praying for you and would love to hear any answered prayer requests.

  19. DramaMama says:

Answer to prayer: we are going forward with foster care! And the state adoption social worker is working with our county social worker to find children we can adopt. God’s plan has once again proven perfect, even if we did question His timing along the way!
Prayer request for Crunchy Chicken’s family…go to http://www.crunchychicken.blogspot.com to read about it. Pray for strength, acceptance and wisdom. We really need to lift them up…Thanks!

  22. stanley says:

my name is stanley, and my prayer request is that God facilitates and expedites the immediate issuing of all my visas (i-129 and i-130) at the American embassy in montreal hassle free, without having to appear for any more interviews or appointments, and that i may receive my passport with all my visas in it before the end of april, amen.

  23. Mom says:

TJ has given up playing baseball because he is very depressed and had played ball competitively for 10 years, but there are obstacles only prayer and God can remove. Pray for TJ’s guidance/courage in overcoming the obstacles that is holding him back and preventing him from pursuing his dreams and goals. He needs to know God’s hand is upon him helping him to obtain his goals. His instructors said he is capable of getting scholarship if he continues to work hard, but obstacles has drained his hope away. We are older parents that do not have much and his heart was so set on a scholarship till obstacles got him down that he can’t get up.

  24. stan says:

hi my name is stan, pls pray for me that all my visas be issued this week at the American embassy in montreal, and to grant us resounding successes on this trip and that God protect us from all negative, evil demonic attacks, and also that God provides me a great paying job upon returning to the states, Amen

  25. kellys says:

Mom, we will pray that not only will God show TJ a new hope, but that he will get enough scholarships as well.

  26. kellys says:

    Stan, how is it going?

  27. Eero says:

I need plenty more belief, plenty more power of prayer and more Holy Ghost with me. Please pray also that God gives me gifts of God’s grace.

  28. Kelly says:

What a great idea and way to bless others. Thank you!! I love your blog and have it in my “reader”!! You go girl!!

  29. Lori Jeffries says:

I appreciate the ability to leave a prayer request. I have a dear, dear friend. She is 29 and has 3 boys – 11,8 and 5 mos. old. She was diagnosed with Brain cancer as the 5 mos. old was born. She has been sent home with hospice and a terminal diagnosis of 3 mos – 1 yr. She can no longer walk. Her and her hubby are both new christians of about 2 yrs. Please pray for God’s perfect will. Of course, I am boldly praying for total healing, but if that isn’t God’s will, then I am praying that she is in as little pain as possible. Thank you again.

I just found your website and I LOVE IT. Thank you.

  30. Cheryl says:

Pray that i receive a financial blessing. Also pray that Dale comes into my life, and that we find happiness together.

  31. Would you kindly please pray for me? I’ve been disabled six years and have fought to keep my home, but now am down to my last six months of savings. I know times are tough for everyone, so appreciate your prayers. Being disabled and struggling financially are taking a toll on my health. Thank you so very much, RH

  32. kellys says:

We just wanted to tell all of you that we lift you up in our prayers every day. Thank you for allowing us to pray for your families and your stresses.

  33. Roseanna Cannaday says:

Please pray that God will place His loving hand and favor over the lives of me and my daughter and our finances. Please pray that God will also place His loving hand and and favor over the relationship between me and my mom so that the relationship will be healed and restored and we can grow closer.

  34. Debi says:

My neighbor was recently laid off from his construction job. Happy New Year to them … not. He’s a husband and father of two small children (a 4-month-old and a 2-year-old) and also a 12-year-old from a previous marriage. They almost had their electricity turned off today but a friend offered to pay their outstanding bill for them (thank goodness for good friends!). Anyway, if you could say a quick prayer for Dave’s job hunt and their family’s financial situation in the midst of this crisis, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

  35. Robyn says:

Please pray for physical health for me. I have been struggling with my weight all my life and have never been able to succeed at losing it. Now at 50 yrs old, it is starting to affect my mobility. I have prayed for years for help from above but I must be doing something wrong, or he is telling me no. I do my best everyday to live my life as an example and follow Christ in all ways, read my bible and pray. Perhaps if others lift my name in prayer, he will reconsider. Thank you for giving us another place to come for christian fellowship.

  36. kellys says:

Robyn, I have all the faith in the world that he is NOT telling you no. I see that your faith is strong but are you doing anything physical on a daily basis?

  37. Kristen Cline says:

Please pray for my husband, he is in training to go back to Iraq for his 2nd time and he will be gone for a year. His name is Frank Cline. I also have 3 young children that understand this and miss him terribly. Thank you and may God bless,
    Kristen

  38. Cindy Petrosky says:

Please pray for my husand, John, as he was recently laid off and is currently looking for work. We are hoping that he can find a full-time position with benefits soon. Thank you so much for your prayers. I look forward to reading your website everyday!!
