I just spotted this rag rug tutorial at This Vintage Chica. I love this kind of stuff. I wish I knew how to crochet. That can be on my to-do list for when I retire. I’ll put it under learning how to play the guitar.

That reminds me of the kind that my Mom had in the kitchen when we were growing up.
I was taught to make these from my husbands great aunt. They are beautiful and easy. Plus you can make them supper cheap! My husband bought a bunch of sheets from a garage sale and I have made 4 rugs from them with plenty of fabric left over. Sheets are for these types of projects.
Crochet is fun and easy. You could teach yourself from internet tutorials. I’d be glad to help you out if you’d like. I’ve done it since I was a kid. I’ve made several of these rugs and they are beautiful, useful, and thrifty if you get the fabric in the right place.
Gayle: Thanks for the offer. I may take you up on that someday.
Jodi: Sheets are a very economical fabric. Sometimes my mom buys them to use for quilt backing. She says it’s so much cheaper than material.
