I just returned from visiting my parents. We took the kids to the nursing home to visit my grandma, to the pond to feed the ducks some stale crackers and bread, and my dad took them on a ride around the property yesterday and today. He has a trailer that he hooks up to his tractor. The kids love it. My aunt and cousins came for a visit yesterday and the kids enjoyed playing together. My parents also paid to take the kids to Chuck E. Cheese. I found a good coupon so it only cost $20 for pizza, drinks, and tokens. Then last night my dad took us to Burger King. They have an outside playground and the kids had a blast.

Well, since we're still getting snow up here in the Midwest, not too many outdoors things. We did go for a walk the other day =) We have been hitting the library and the local art museum has a kids' area. They can go and use the supplies for free! The other thing we like to do is go to interesting places we don't normally frequent, like an Asian grocery or the mega hardware store. My son loves checking out new things and pretending how to eat/use them! The other thing we found out about is that the local university is willing to offer tours if you call. Not just the new student tour! When we asked, we got a tour of the TV studio. I know my BIL took his kids to the 'bug' dept and they loved holding huge hissing cockroaches and stuff. Totally free and the profs are usually more than happy to talk and hang out w/younger kids. Hope you enjoy your break and thanks for the great post!
