Credit unions are not-for-profit institutions and they are regulated by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA).  Here are some benefits of credit unions:

  • lower interest rates on loans
  • lower fees
  • help with your tax preparation
  • insurance tips
  • giveaways, scholarships, sweepstakes
  • higher rates on savings
  • not-for-profit
  • profits returned to members
  • deposits are insured
  • owned and controlled by members
  • Board of Directors is made up of volunteers
  • service driven
