Big Target Toy Clearance

t-rex rampage If you need to pick up a few cheap birthday gifts for kids, you may want to check out a Target near you for the big bi-annual toy clearance. Today, my Target went to 75% off on a large number of toys, including the Hot Wheels T-Rex Rampage my little nephew wanted so desperately for his 5th birthday party tomorrow. I was happy to be able to get a nice birthday gift with a value of $40 for only $10.

I was able to finish off the girl stockings for next Christmas. (Polly Pocket and an assortment of Little Pet Shop items were 80 cents to $2.99.) I also picked up Advent Calendars with a My Little Pet Shop and My Little Pony theme. My Little Pony is a classic toy that keeps coming back, so I should be safe using that calendar for Christmas 2010’s countdown and we’ll do My Little Pet Shop this coming Christmas.

Other things you may want to look for are scale model soldiers and tanks, Bratz items and a few Diego and Dora items. None of them were on any of my kid wish lists, so I didn’t buy them, but they were all 75% off at my Target.

If you can’t afford to buy toys on clearance right now and you need to shop for fall birthdays or Christmas, don’t feel too bad about missing out on this month’s toy deals, because Target typically does another big toy sale at the end of August.

Good to know-our Target gets picked over pretty quick so I’ll have to go soon!

  2. Sounds like you got some good deals. My Target had a few different bargains, but I wish I could have found the Hot Wheels toy that you got. I was glad to get some things for their birthdays.

    Thrifty Karen,
I saw two women roll out with carts full to the brim before I finished parking the car, so I think you really have to get there fast.

  4. We got there at 9 pm, so there weren’t many people in the toy section. Then this man came along and he started walking around collecting all of the High School Musical and School Rock dolls. They were $5-6 for 2 dolls in each package. I’m not sure if he was going to resell them, give them to charity, buy them for relatives . . . I’m just not sure what he was going to do. There were definitely some good deals. I had to dig around a bit, but it was worth it to find some things hiding behind other toys.
