If your child loves play dough as much as mine, you might appreciate this recipe:
In a large bowl, mix 1 /14 cups of flour and 4 tablespoons of salt together. In a separate cup, mix together ½ cup of water and enough food coloring to suit your child’s color palate. Pour the water mixture into the flour mixture and knead. If the mixture is too sticky, you can add more flour. Store the mixture in an airtight container. This mixture will not last as long as the real stuff, but it’s a cheap alternative. Just make sure it’s sealed up tight after using. Incidentally, this makes a great party craft. Young kids will not only enjoy making their own play dough, but they’ll also enjoy making fun shapes.
