Thrifty Mommy

Clark Howard and the Smart Shoppers

I’ve mentioned that I’ve been a bit busier than normal and here’s one of the reasons.  I was invited to speak at a Clark Howard event that took place this past weekend.

I have been a Clark Howard fan for quite a while, so I was very excited about this opportunity.  Unfortunately, the radio stations here do not air his shows each day, so I am not able to post his tips as frequently as I would like.

Yep, that’s Clark and me.  :)    Two others and I spoke about saving money with couponing, meal planning, and stockpiling.  The other two speakers of the event were Faye Prosser from Smart Spending Resources and Dan Griffin from SavvyDollar.org

(I wonder if they could see my head over the podium. lol)

I spoke about saving money with menu planning and stockpiling.  You’ll find many of these tips here at Thrifty Mommy, but I’ll be reviewing some with you in the next few weeks.

Welcome new readers and a special thanks to Coastal Federal Credit Union for putting on this free event for the public.

Sounds like you had a great time! Congratulations!
I have one small quibble though.. the sentence “Two others and myself spoke about…” It should be “Two others and I spoke about…”
Sorry, I hate to nitpick, but exchanging the word “myself” for “I” drives me crazy! See this link for more information: http://grammar.quickanddirtytips.com/myself-grammar.aspx

    • You’re absolutely right. I can’t believe I did that. I/me, indirect objects, etc is a big pet peeve of mine too. I can’t stand it when someone uses “I” at the end of a sentence instead of “me”. If it’s at the end of a sentence, then it is probably an indirect object. Other pet peeves include people using “your” instead of “you’re” or saying “realitor” instead of “realtor”. The list goes on and on. haha I’ll go fix that blooper right now.
