Coupons could have saved my family’s life – literally

Just thought I would tell you a divine intervention story that happened to me today. This afternoon, I was running errands with my kids and needed to stop by the grocery store really quick to get some baby food before getting home by 3 pm for a conference call. I was headed to the store when I realized I had left my coupon book at home. I knew I had some good ones so I decided to go later. I refuse to pay more than I have to.
Then I found out that there was a shooting at the grocery store I frequent for quick stops. There was an argument and a man was shot and killed in the parking lot where I was just headed. Thankfully, I was forgetful (as usual) and decided to go home instead of wasting my money. I could have been in that parking lot at the exact time the shooting happened. I don’t know what I would have done if I was in the parking lot with my kids when that gun went off! I live in a very quiet town. This is not the norm.
I tucked my kids into bed tonight with a kiss and a thankful prayer that they are safe and sound in their beds. If my son wakes up 5 times tonight trying to keep up with his sister, I will not complain. I will thank the Lord that he allowed me to be forgetful and cheap. Thank you for keeping my family safe.

Amen!
a “grace-full” moment
omg are you freakin kiddin me. Thank the lord you didnt go in there. See there was a reason that u forgot that coupon book. Praise the lord and Im glad you are ok.
Divine intervention indeed! He must have wanted you and your family around a little longer.
whoa! that’s an amazing story! praise God you are ok!
Thank the Lord indeed!
(Something similar has happen to me before, I ran late because of a phone call and was about 3 minutes behind an enormous car pile up!)
It really brings home the idea of keeping yoru family out of harm’s way and it not always being your choice.
Wow Karen – mark that as a miracle.
I mean wow Kellys – sorry.
That is crazy, so glad you weren’t there!
It’s ok, Tracee. It happens all the time. Most people think it’s Karen. It’s where the name is placed on the bottom of the post and then the title is directly under that.
Oh wow! I’m so glad you’re all safe!
Everything happens for a reason. You were meant to forget your coupon book!
