DIY Sweater Arm Scarfs

DIY Sweater Arm ScarfsHere’s another cool way to recycle some old sweaters and a good excuse to visit the local thrift shop if need be as well (like we need more excuses to go to the thrift shop!).

Using 100% wool sweaters, you’ll want to felt them by washing in warm water and then giving them some time in the clothes dryer. Once that’s done, the fabric will become dense and you’ll be able to cut them up without the yarn coming unravelled.

From there, it’s pretty much free form. Cut your shapes, sew them together and decorate to taste. Check out the article from Spun Magazine for more details on making scarfs from sweater arms.
