Thrifty Mommy

Ebay can help you plan your wedding without breaking your budget.

When I got married to my wonderful husband, we tried to have a nice wedding without breaking the bank.  My parents helped a little, but we still footed a little over half the bill.  I think this is wise for the most part.  If the bride and groom have to pay for a part of the costs, then the decisions will be more reasonable.  Although I still think we spent way too much, we had an evening, candlelit wedding with tons of food for 300+ guests for less than $5200.  Looking back, I still think that was too much money but I couldn’t tell you what we would change.  Our wedding was beautiful (although I am biased).

However, I came across a great article on Delawareonline about how Ebay can change your wedding plans, or at least your finances.  Ashley Purvis of Louisville, Ky saved a lot of money on her wedding just by shopping for most of her wedding items on Ebay.  Now that is a novel idea that works well.  You have to do your homework first, though.  You need to know exactly what you want and what size you need.  Don’t just get it because you can for cheap.  Be thrifty with your choices.  This way you can have the wedding of your dreams without going broke doing it.

Way to go, Ashley!
