The company who designs and manufacture's these items are the ones responsible for product testing. Not the stores who sell them. I was actually going to buy this item for my daughter for Christmas. But, since the recall I am now writing a paper on it for my Ethics class. All of your comments have been helpful. We must be careful about what we provide our children with. Hopefully, these company's will start to open their eyes and become more ethical when testing products for our children!

hey i am an auction seller and i purchased these for my christmas sales. i am very low income so if i was to be held responsible like you say then i would lose everything i have all because i can't afford to test? all stores and individual's expect these company's to be straight forward. if everything had to be tested by every company who passes these down the chain before selling to the public items for $10 would raise to hundred's. think about it!

My Husband mentioned this- I didn't believe him about the date rape aspect (I mean I did- but it sounded so weird)! I know that China should be accountable for this, but I really think that these American companies that bought from them are at fault too. I mean we can test things and business owners do have accountability for the products they sell. They should not be let off the hook either.

I just returned from Target after I returned all the Aquadots my 5 yo got for her birthday, luckily she didn't eat any (I don't think she did) but I think the dogs did, they were both vomiting after she had been playing with them. They are fine now. When are we as the US going to make stricker regulations on imported goods?
