Free garbage disposal cleaner/deodorizer
OK, so I used lemons in a recipe yesterday. I had to squeeze fresh lemon juice in a recipe. So what to do with the outer peel? I used 4 lemons and put 1 lemon down the garbage disposal. It smells so good! I froze the other ones so I can use them later. You can also do the same with orange peel. Most of the time you peel just one at a time. Don’t throw it away! Put it down your garbage disposal. The smell and acid will help keep your disposal clean and lovely. That way you don’t have to pay for it since you would budget the fruit cost in your grocery bill.
FYI … You could also use the frozen peel when you need lemon or orange zest.

I do this all the time. I consider it one of my “little indulgences”. I just LOVE the way that it makes my sink and kitchen smell.
It’s wonderful to do that. You can also put ice down the disposal to sharpen blades.
If I have a used lemon from my tea, I stick it in the disposal too. Even the used ones will do the trick. It’s amazing how well a little citrus can clean.

I’ve used this before, never thought about freezing them to save later, though. I also use baking soda and vinegar if I don’t have a lemon or orange. It’s fun to watch it fizz, but it gets rid of nasty smells too.
