The chicken is the manager’s choice so you do not get to pick what you get. It is whatever they have the most of. Also the sides are mashed potatoes and gravy and cole slaw and one biscuit. No changes!! I work for KFC and have seen many people get ticked off about this. We follow the guidlines sent down to us. We do not make the rules, just follow them. Please remember this when recieving your FREE meal. It is free right?? So why get rude and ugly because the staff can not change the coupon rules to suit everyone?
Trish: Sorry you’ve had people get ugly with you. No, it’s not your fault or anyone else’s that there are rules place. I hope the rest of your customers are pleasant to you.
At the Southlake, TX location they asked me what type of chicken AND what sides I wanted…
That is so wierd b/c no where on the coupon does it say that you can’t decide the 2 sides you want…it just says 2 individual sides. Hmmm.
Anyway, thanks for posting this! My husband and I have to be out for most of the day on Saturday and were looking for a cheap place to have lunch…guess we’ve got that handled now
Tried a bucket of this new chicken the other night. I even had to wait for the chicken to finish cooking. Very dry and not worth the money. I love their crispy fried chicken (bad for you, but tastes good). Oh, well live and learn.
I sent my husband down there and my three oldest kids. They were pretty happy about it- free is free and they had a nice time together. The two babies and I had leftovers….. sob sob. Ah we had tons of food, not really upset.
I can’t believe other people would get upset over free food (alluding to the first comment). Also kind of surprised Oprah was behind this, she is always going on about her weight and having Dr. Oz tell people what to eat. My family brought home almost a full plate of left overs because the youngest (5) couldn’t hardly put a dent in his meal. IT WAS NOT HEALTH FOOD by any standard.
Don’t make the mistake of thinking this chicken is a healthy form of fast food. It’s complete garbage and purchasing it supports factory farming. It also contains MSG and trans-fat. Here’s a detailed discussion of why KFC’s grilled chicken is so unhealthy.
