Send your praises to Gayla at Mom Gadget for this one, Krispy Kreme is offering free doughnuts in celebration of National Doughnut Day! Tomorrow, June 1st, (which is also my sister’s birthday, happy birthday, Dawn) doughnut aficionados can visit participating Krispy Kremes and choose a free doughnut, as a thank you for their support through the years.
Here’s an interesting bit: The Chicago Salvation Army started National Doughnut Day in 1938 to honor those who participated in World War I and also to raise funds, and I’m sure, morale, during the depression. Thanks, Gayla. Now, if only Krispy Kreme offered 100 Calorie Packs.

FIRST!
I need to find a krispy Kreme near me …..
Thanks Deb!
100 calorie pack = 1 bite.
Thanks for the link. I hope you enjoy your donut as much as I’m going to
My favorite are the chocolate cake. Not quite as fattening as all the others, but it will take me all day to walk the darn thing off.
God Bless Krispy Kreme
Guess what we’re having tomorrow for breakfast?
I had no idea The Salvation Army started National Donut Day – and I grew up with parents who were Salvation Army officers! You learn something new every day!
Hey Renee — there’s one in Glen Burnie, Columbia and Washington, DC. You could get your fat pill on the way to work.
Sniff sniff……:(
We hath no KRISPY KREME doughnut stores in Arizona anymore. The company that owned them, and had other “interests”, went bankrupt last summer and they were all locked up.
Sniff sniff.
Not too many Krispy Kremes near me, either, which is probably a good thing! I’m willing to take a drive for a free KK though.
WoooooHooooooo!
Interesting. All of my money saving tips and it’s the free Krispy Kremes that garner the biggest response.
yeah! And I’d tell them too! You deserve at LEAST a free Dozen or so!
