ooooh I remember as a little girl getting to visit the Kahiki restaurant in Ohio, it was so awesome! I’d love to try their frozen dinners, I’m drooling already!

We try to take advantage of coupon deals when we go out to eat. We usually get the Entertainment book every year and that has helped a lot – we still get to go out and have a nice dinner but a lot cheaper!

It’s getting harder and harder to be able to afford to go to eat these days. Many of our local restaurants now offer a deal – buy one dinner and get 1/2 off or full price off on another meal. This makes it much more affordable.

Frugal way to handle restaurant cravings- like Rachael Ray I try to remake them at home- way cheaper and they can be personalized to our specific tastes.
It helps that we almost always like our own cooking better- we save eating out for celebrations or those days we just don’t have the time.

I use the copycat recipe site, but I also have found a cheap way to get those restaurant “fixes” for a lot less- I will go to a chinese restaurant at lunch time or before their lunch time hours are over and buy their lunch combinations for usually half of what dinner combos cost and then refrigerate and reheat for dinner- 2 combos costing less then $8 total will feed a family of 4. I also do the same for other restaurants that have lunch special prices- just buy at lunchtime and reheat for dinner

We limit our resturant exposure totally to lunch time meals together (hubby and I) – it’s less expensive for the same meal at lunch. Also we drink water – nowadays that saves about $4.00 which is plenty enough for the tip and then some.
