Want to crochet your own reusable bag? It's lots of fun, frugal, and of course eco-friendly. I have free patterns and tutorials on how to make grocery totes and purses from recycled plastic bags if you'd like to take a look.

kroger bags are the same price and they give you rewards points for using them too :-)

Converting to reusable bags is on my list of things to do. So far I haven't come across any that are as big as I'd like, though. I'll keep looking. We don't have a Lowe's Foods near us, or I'd look there!

Wow, that's a great system.
We use a normal bag for our groceries, so we don't need the plastic ones.
No extra points though.

You can find my tip at:

We got several of the reusable bags at trader joes and use them all the time. It makes you feel like you are making a difference.

I've been using my canvas bags since I started collecting the plastic bags & taking them back when I have a full bag. I noticed how often I have to take a full bag in.

I hope more stores will start rewarding customers for reusing bags.

We bought a couple of (similar) bags from Whole Foods Market about a year ago, and have been using them since.

I admit, we could probably use a couple more, but I like to get the additional (usually 1) paper bag as well, because I use that for gathering our paper recycling.

I love my reusable bags! The only problem is that I need to find some that are free from store logos, so I can use them everywhere.
