Give Free Rice to the Hungry

Today I found a great site that gives free rice to the hungry and helps you polish your vocabulary skills. It’s Free Rice.
Free Rice simply gives you a word and then 4 words to choose from that have the same or similar meaning as the given word. For every right answer you choose, Free Rice will give 10 grains of rice to a person in need.
Today I worked for just a few minutes and was able to give 310 grains of rice. Some of the words were hard, so if you’re like me, you’ll need to have dictionary.com open when you play. lol
I hope you’ll spend a few minutes today sharpening your vocabulary and helping the needy. Thanks to people playing the game, over 250,000 grains of rice are donated each day. Wouldn’t you like to help make it more?

What a great idea! Thank you for posting this.
I found myself getting a little carried away with this! Polish your vocab and feed the hungry at the same time – I love it!
You should not use a dictionary, if you read the faq it says that it automatically adjusts to your level of knowledge and will throw in some words to help you learn! This is a great tool to use to learn new words. Great!! Everyone should know about this! I am sending it to all of my email friends.. Thanks again!
Jennifer, I know what you mean. It was hard to walk away. I kept thinking, ‘Oh, just a few more pieces of rice. Wait, let me feed someone else.’ The style of questions kind of reminded me of the SATs. I felt a little dumb.
I just played for about 5 minutes and donated 600 grains of rice. I saved it in my favorites for later. I didn’t read the directions, but I did notice that it adjusts to the players skill level. I got quite a few right in a row and then would get a hard one. After a getting a few wrong in a row I would get a super easy one.
