Couponizer

The Couponizer is an amazing organizational system for anyone who collects coupons. If you spend your shopping mornings going through your big old coupon envelope or sorting through your purse at the checkout line, you’ll want this handy tool.

The Couponizer is a small blinder filled with pockets all of your coupons. Each pocket is marked according to need. There are pockets for baking and staples, breakfast items, canned good – anything you need. Plus there are pockets for restaurants, the coupons that are about to expire, the coupons you’re about to use, even a pocket for receipts.

The Couponizer also comes with scissors, a carrying case, a coupon sorting mat, a shopping list pad and savings tracker.

One of the reasons many people don’t clip coupons is because it’s too much of a hassle, The Couponizer makes it less of a hassle. Once a week is all it takes to organize your coupons and then all you have to do is keep The Couponizer in your glove compartment and purse.

The Couponizer retails for $18.00 and is well worth the price.

  2. amira says:

    i neeeed this

  3. toasters says:

Always have an emergency fund. Then you can afford to seize opportunities, buy in bulk, and avoid paying interest and fees when an emergency expense arises (and they always will).

  4. Coral says:

I buy meat in the family size even though it is just my sister and I. Then I use a scale to portion it down to 1 lb sizes and seal with my FoodSaver. Another thing I’ve started doing is making milk ice cubes. We never go through all our milk before it goes bad. Then I have milk frozen in ice cubes for baking. I use the Handi-Vac system to vacuum seal the baggies of milk ice cubes to keep them fresher.

Lastly, when I have something free after rebate and also have a coupon, I try to buy it at the grocery store where the coupon will double. Worst case, I buy it at Walgreens, CVS, WalMart, etc. But getting a double coupon on a mfg. rebate item is a way to maximize the profit. :)

  5. B. Newton says:

Naturally, I do the coupon thing; therefore, this organizer would be great. Otherwise, I frequent thrift stores and yard sales.

  6. emily dawley says:

My best money saving tip is to pay yourself first. Every time you get a paycheck, you should pay your savings or retirement account first before spending anything extra. This way you are always saving for your future no matter what other circumstances get in the way!

  7. Leslie says:

I try anything to save money. But number one is stay home so I don’t have to pay an arm and leg for gas.

  8. Tami says:

My husband wants me to use coupons. He even brings them home, but I don’t have a system for using them. This just might help!

  9. christopher h says:

buy holiday items the day after the holiday, then save for next year

  10. MSM says:

I only buy whole chickens; throw them in the crockpot for 4 hours, then pull the chicken off in 2 cup increments for freezing. Save the chicken broth – it’s sooooooo good for cooking rice or potatoes in.

Other good ideas are menu planning and coupons – but I am LOUSY with the coupon thing because I don’t have this system!

The best thing I do lately is read these blogs from women who have it figured out and are making it work; they inspire me and keep me trying!

    Thanks for a great giveaway : )

  11. Annette says:

My best money saving tip is to find a grocery surplus outlet near you. We have two–one run by a Mennonite family and the other run by the Amish–and let me tell you, there is no way we’d be able to eat as well as we do on as little as we do without it. They have tons of organics, lots of interesting foods we might not otherwise try, and the stock constantly changes.

  12. Christina says:

    Great contest! Thanks!

My tip: READ THE FINE PRINT! I can’t believe how many people didn’t read they had to share a money-saving tip to qualify for the contest!

Seriously, read the fine print on everything. No one cares about your money as much as you do, so be sure to know what you are signing up for and know the terms of every line of your contracts. This can save you so much money!

  13. sara l. says:

Judging from the lack of organization in my last shopping trip, this is much needed! LOL! Thanks for such a generous giveaway! My best money-saving tip would be to deposit a certain amount every paycheck to your savings account…I don’t ever look in it and when I need it for something, I’m always pleasantly surprised at how much money we’ve saved up without really missing the money!

  14. Shannon says:

A good money saving tip for me…is to just not go out anywhere, lol. If I stay at home with the kids, rather than going out, I spend much less money than if I go out!

  15. Corey says:

My parents could use this! I would say that one word of advice is to stock up on things that are on sale. Join a site that points out coupon/store sales combinations, and store, store, store! At first it may be more expensive, but in the long run if you keep it up you will realize the savings (plus you get lots of free stuff)!

  16. David Coward says:

I try to shop for food weekly so I hit all the different sales, bogo, etc. then I stock up.

  17. Nora Scott-Platt says:

I always look at the clearance areas to see if there is anything on my list at a lower price. I use coupons not only in grocery stores but also like JC Pennys one of my favorite stores. I never pay full price is I can avoid it. I look and keep in mind when the sales are and what coupons I have to help reduce the cost. If a supersale I stock up.

  18. Joanna says:

We shop for just about all of our children’s clothes second hand. We’ve saved hundreds (says my husband I say it’s more and more!) by shopping thrift stores, flea markets and garage sales for their clothes. Why spend retail when they’re just going to outgrow everything in a week anyway?

  19. Denise says:

I’ve been shopping at CVS (with coupons, of course!) lately. I’ve been saving $. I also let my Sam’s membership expire & haven’t missed it a bit! Thanks!

  20. Debbie Shiraishi says:

combining sales and coupons! EAch week, I save over 50% on my grocery bill doing it this way! :)

  21. kristen says:

My money saving tip for those who love coffee: Buy a thermos and bring it with you. No more stops for $4 coffees!

  22. Natalie says:

This is awesome!! I always lose my coupons!

  23. Rena says:

I have been couponing for years and would love to give this a try! My best tip is to use cloth napkins…paper towels /napkins are a waste on many levels.

  24. Cindy Garcia says:

Collect your local grocery store ads and go to Walmart and do price comparisons. It is time consuming but really brings down your bill.

  25. We buy groceries from Angel Food Ministries to save money, and would love to win a Couponizer.

    Thanks!

  26. Daphne says:

CVS and Walgreens all the way! I’m amazed at how much you can save then you use the bucks and register rewards. Thanks for the chance to win!

  27. Diane S says:

Every time I get change I drop it into a container. Its amazing how fast it adds up. I cash it in at Christmas, last year the total after 10 months was almost $300.

  28. Angela says:

I would love to try it out.. I am huge into coupons but usually I just carry around an envelope lol

I am hosting my own bloggy carnival over at Seven Dogs right now!! Connor’s First Birthday Blog Bash is featuring over $530 in prizes. Come check it out!!

  29. Michelle says:

I’m a big coupon clipper – my husband knows to check with me to see if I have a coupon for something first LOL
My money saving tip is to pay yourself first – we automatically transfer money from my husband’s paycheck to our savings acct so we don’t touch that money, if we’re not used to it being in our checking acct we won’t touch it.
Also – pay credit card balances in full every month so you’re not paying interest and therefore paying more than the item originally cost!

  30. Judy says:

In past tough times we would use powdered milk. Just mix it with water. If you don’t like the taste, you can mix it with a 1/2 gal. of milk. Kind of stretch your gallon of milk.

  31. Rebecca says:

My best advice? Make a shopping list that includes enough food breakfasts, lunches, and a week of dinners. Then stick to the list while you’re shopping, buy store brands, and use your coupons. You’ll be eating out less, making those extra shopping trips for a few items less, and you’ll have a choice of what to make each night instead of not knowing and dialing for pizza. Also, I like to bake my own cookies, bread, and make freezer packs of veggies in the summer to last throughout the year (great in casseroles and soups). For baby food, I puree our leftovers and freeze them in single servings. In general, I’ve found that if I’m more careful with our groceries and cooking, then we end up saving money and eating healthier. It’s also less stressful for me when it gets close to dinner time.

  32. Shawna says:

My money-saving tip is to drink water! From a faucet, no less. Try it! Replace all your usual beverages with water (the occasional, homemade coffee is ok,) and see how much you save. WOW.

  33. Beth says:

Shop at thrift shops-you can find brand new stuff for very very cheap!

  34. Katie says:

Well.. I’m trying to learn more about saving money. We do a lot of the typical ones : Shop in club pack sizes when they’re also on sale (when meat ends up being like $.99/lb that way, or you get 25 rolls of toilet paper for $6!)

We cloth diaper, which is enormous savings.

When I cook, if I can stretch the ingredients to double the recipe to freeze a meal (or find a way to incorporate leftovers to stretch a meal, I’m pretty good at that) to reduce it’s cost and have a night off from cooking!

I’m trying to learn more about the whole CVS deals thing people talk about.. but it still totally baffles me!

Oh! And for the kids clothing, at the end of the summer season I buy things on the clearance rack from $1 – $3 an item for the next year. We can outfit our 5 kids for less than $100 each year! That way we can afford to buy them good, supportive shoes at Striderite (which I also only buy when they have buy 1 get 1 half off)

  35. Melissa says:

What’s saved me the most money? A Two-Week Menu. I sit down, write out what we’re going to eat for dinner for each night for 2 weeks (don’t forget to take into account special nights (anniversaries, birthdays, baseball/soccer games, etc.). Then next to each dinner item, I list the ingredients we need to have on hand to make it.

Ex: Lasagna: lasagna noodles, pasta sauce, ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, eggs; garlic bread; salad ~ lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, salad dressing.

then I print the list out and look through the coupons ~ 1) what do I already have in the pantry? cross it off; 2) do I have coupons for any of the things I need to buy? put a star next to it so I don’t forget; 3) I use WinCo as my main grocery store, but sometimes the other grocery stores have sales that beat WinCo’s prices, so I watch those prices, too.

At the bottom of the Two-Week List, I have the “we always need” list: eggs, milk, cheese, yogurt, sandwich meat, sour cream, cream cheese, cold cereal, bacon, four, sugar, etc.

There are still little runs to the store in between, but our grocery budget is way down from what it used to be.

    i hope I win. i hope I win.

  36. Emily says:

I could really use this! My coupons are everywhere!

My best $$$ saving tip has got to be shopping the grocery sales and combining with coupons. I’m sure I’m not the only one to mention it, but it has saved us SO much money and our pantry has never been more stocked! Thanks to some friendly blogs, they also help me save loads of money!!

  37. Kim says:

I do my Christmas shopping all year long – I take advantage of sales and put everything in the gift closet with labels so I know what’s what.

  38. Samantha Pruitt says:

buy as much stuff at a thrift store as you can!

  39. Cathie says:

I’d really love to have this

  40. Sylvia Porter says:

    buy in bulk!

  41. Mary says:

Plot a shopping path so that there is no backtracking. Then arrange shopping lists to correspond with that path. And finally arrange coupons in the same order as my shopping lists.

  42. Sharon Jones says:

check all of the circulars for stores in your area…sometimes even the local drug store will have an item on a great sale. Buy cheap :)

  43. Angela Dzialo says:

I REALLY use the internet a great deal for savings.
I use ebay,freecycle.org, (THE BEST) As many thrift sites as I can find for ideas on everything from food to gas to home maintenance.
I would be lost witout these things. I also hit tag sales as well as thrift shops BEFORE I buy new. I keep a running list of my needs and take it everywhere I go. I am an older “cheapskate” and need to be very careful with my money

  44. Ruth Utterback says:

I’m sure everyone does this, but here’s goes try to shop sales and use coupons,I do rite aids free after rebate on items like toothpaste bodywash etc.We live in a small town with only a Very expensive vons. a riteaid and 2 small independent stores. We combine an out of town Doc appt with a trip to Walmart. With coupons and their low prices I stock up on canned items toilet paper and such.

  45. Ricka Doerr says:

Watch the ads and compare prices, then make a list (and stick to it) and use coupons (some stores have double value so check that out).

  46. Dawn B says:

Absolutely do not go to the grocery store unless you need a full order because you end up buying more than you go in for. If you just need milk, run in the gas station.

  47. Christina W. says:

My trick? Meal Planning, & make a food budget. For example – We can only spend $400 per month on groceries. That’s all, and that’s it! (It helps keep us from tossing in the cart just any old thing that grabs the eye.)

  48. kristyn says:

    never go grocery shopping hungry!!!

  49. Dorothy Davidson says:

I always shop for groceries at 2 or 3 stores, buying the best buys at each.
