How are your gas prices?

April 25, 2008 by kellys

I went to the gas pump to day and had to pay $3.49/gallon.  That is ridiculous.  How in the world are we supposed to buy the necessities when gas is so high and milk is almost $5 a gallon here?

What is gas like where you live?  I can’t wait to hear how expensive it is around the world.

$3.39 in Tulsa, but we were paying WAY more than that in Germany and France the past three or so years, so I am still enjoying the “cheapness” of it all. My co-worker has a natural gas car… he pays around $0.69/gallon.

  2. Veggiemomof2 says:

$3.59 here in StLouis Missouri. One station has premium @ $4 a gal now!

  3. Carey says:

In Western NY i put a couple of gallons in this morning and it was 3.69.
    Its terrible.

  4. curly_girl says:

    Seattle: between $3.55 and $3.60
I drive a hybrid (Prius), so while I’m still very thankful for the great gas mileage I choke every time I see how much I still pay per gallon to fill up. Ugh. :(

  9. Rachel says:

It was $3.83 for the cheap stuff at Costco yesterday – the cheapest gas in Santa Cruz, Ca! I saw it at Chevron for $4.01!!!! Yikes!

  10. Maria says:

Make that $3.49 today at lunch. That’s regular not premium.

  11. Claudia says:

In Chicago it is $3.79 for regular Unleaded!!!!!

  12. Tanya says:

I am going to plug ya at http://www.mommygoggles.com

    $3.71 in Western/Central New York today :(

  15. Ali says:

3.67 in NW Indiana, it’s been this way for about a week after a 15 cent jump. Yuck!

  16. Leah says:

    $3.49 in Birmingham, AL

  17. Chris says:

Come to Canada $1.20 per litre which works out to $4.80 a gallon. Still cheaper than most other countries. http://www.organicpicks.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/12/gas-price-by-country-resized.jpg

  18. I have no idea what a gallon is compared to a litre but I paid $1.04/L yesterday with my 7 cents/L off from Safeway. It was regular $1.11, obviously. We always go to the 7 cents off places. Everywhere else gives 3.5 cents off (except a few stupid Esso owners) but since we buy groceries anyway we go for the extra gas discount.

  19. Chris says:

1 Us gallon is equal to 3.78 litres

  20. Richelle F says:

Here in central VA it’s about $3.45

  21. jen says:

$3.74 for regular unleaded self serve here in Connecticut today. It’s making me physically ill.

  22. Ami says:

3.49 for regular in Augusta, GA, but I saved 10 cents a gallon for spending $100 this month with my Kroger card. So I actually paid 3.39/gal. Still alot, but every little bit helps!

  23. Robin says:

    Los Angeles, CA (Westside)

$3.93. It cost me $40 yesterday to fill up my tiny Honda sedan. No weekend excursions for us for a while…

  24. Jessi says:

    $3.69 here in South-Central Michigan

  25. Dawn says:

Here in North Carolina it is 3.54 and that is on our military base where we are suppose to pay less.

  26. Arena says:

3.70 I think for here on the Oregon Coast. We’re buying a minivan tomorrow and selling our 11 MPG Gas-Best of a Durango.

  27. kellys says:

To fill up my van is around $75.

How about you guys that don’t live in the US? I see you Canadians are paying an arm and a leg. We must still be paying just an arm. How about Europe?

  28. Lindsey says:

3.45 for the next hour or so until they decide to hike it up another 10 cents. In Louisiana……where the oil is “harvested” 20 minutes from our house.

It’s ridiculous. My husband and I are investing in bikes. I would rather spend a few hundred on bikes than a few thousand more at the pump.

Milk is 6 dollars a gallon here. :( At least my son is young and doesn’t mind powdered milk. Double :(

It’s so tough to stay on budget when my food budget is off the charts and my gas budget is even worse. It really makes us think about where we drive.

I do think that this is fueling the green movement even more so. Yay, earth!

  29. Tracey says:

    Dartmouth NS Canada:

    1.33 a litre…..ridicolous….so that works out to about 5.32 a gallon!!

Our milk is almost 7 dollars for 4 litres which is equal to about a US gallon.

  30. Nancy says:

East Bay Area in California: $3.87 at the Chevron down the street from my home. Cost almost $40 to fill up our Dodge Neon yesterday. I’ll be walking to work more often.

  31. Alley says:

Its 3.69 here in CT! :-(

  32. Kristina Cant says:

It’s about $3.60 here in Oregon.

  33. Lori says:

yeah, i filled up my van yesterday and had to do a double-take! it’s $3.71 a gallon here in the burbs of new york. Can you beleive it too, the guy down the road from me wants $4.01 a gallon!! the nerve.

  34. kellys says:

That makes me want to know how they come up with the price.

  35. Patricia says:

Here in Southeastern Kentucky, we pay $3.59 a gallon for regular, unleaded. What are people going to do? Yes, our gallon of milk is now at $3.99. Also, large eggs are $1.99 a dozen.

  36. Cortney says:

I am in Southside VA, (1hr west of Richmond) and we are at 3.59 a gal for 87.. 103.00 to fill up my truck yesterday! NOT FUN!
